Want to quit teaching? This can be a very difficult decision for teachers. While there may be times in our careers in education that we want to stop and detach, there are still appropriate ways to deliver just that. Normally, teachers are afraid to discuss this issue with others - to the point they just leave in a moment. It may seem sudden to colleagues, but it is something that has been brewing for a long time.

Although concerns about quitting the profession are difficult, as professionals we must be aware of how to do things in the right way. After all, given that we will look for another job, our relationship with our former employer will be considered by the new company. Whatever the reaction, it will either boost your ability to work or for worse. So, here are the things that you should not do when you are sure you want to quit teaching.

1. Never be absent. Teachers as far as possible, if you have this inner thought of leaving the profession to never to be absent. Although you'll be just counting the days until your departure from the education profession or the school itself, always do your responsibility as a mentor. Do not let the students suffer and never to be absent without permission. This is compromising your current status and could pave the way for bad impressions on your end.

2. Don’t be unprofessional. Just because you are leaving soon does not mean that you do not tend to your work anymore. In fact, it is the best time to double your efforts so that administrators can see how productive you are. Your other colleagues and especially your students will be able to notice as well, leaving them only wonderful impressions of you. This can also be beneficial to your side so that the recommendation that will be given at the end will be sweet and pleasant.

3. Never escalate the resignation procedure. Just because you want to quit teaching does not mean that you also accelerate the process of the school in terms of their resignation process. Learn to be patient and wait until it is done. If you're too impatient to do this, the directors may think that you do want to set your feet away from them immediately. This may be another bad impression on your end. If there is a clear process and timetable in accordance with it, the more you can do is wait and continue with your present work.
