Disadvantage 2: No flexible hours. Since summer courses normally last for a whole day, you might not be able to enjoy the summer sun and the atmosphere. Typically, a class will last for four hours every day. It's something you'll definitely miss if you are unemployed. Some summer jobs require longer hours at the office or the workplace. So you can not really feel the summer, since you're still staying eight hours per day and might even lead to overtime.

Disadvantage 3: Never an easy job. As a substitute teacher, especially during the summer with long hours to render, no other work can also be simple and practical for any teacher. Normally, substitute teachers are given the privilege of choosing a topic they wish to teach and the hours they want to carry on. Thus, it can prove that the classes would certainly be a breeze on their side. However, if you were not hired for one, then finding one can surely be a big downside.

These are just some of the bad side given a teachers rate of unemployment during the summer. It is not surprising that many seize such an opportunity, because it is indeed very convenient and can really support them during that season in a way.
